Schemify 1.0.0

Schemify 1.0.0 is out for Linux, macOS and Windows, with a browser build beside them. Each release ships two programs: schemify, the command-line tool that formats, checks and diffs designs and runs the git merge driver, and schemify-gui, the editor.

Install

On macOS, and on Linux with Homebrew:

brew install scouren/schemify/schemify

With Nix, prebuilt and cached:

nix run github:Scouren/Schemify-Releases

Linux packages need glibc 2.28 or newer:

sudo apt install ./schemify_1.0.0-1_amd64.deb # Debian, Ubuntu, Mint
sudo dnf install ./schemify-1.0.0-1.x86_64.rpm # Fedora; zypper on openSUSE
sudo pacman -U ./schemify-1.0.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst # Arch

On Windows, unzip schemify-v1.0.0-windows-x86_64.zip and put the folder on your PATH. Every archive is listed in SHA256SUMS on the release page.

What is in it

  • Schematic capture with xschem’s default keys, and import of xschem libraries and PDKs.
  • Netlists for ESpice, ngspice, Xyce, LTspice, HSPICE, CDL, Spectre and Verilog. CI checks that they come out byte for byte the same on Linux, macOS, Windows and WASI.
  • Docs pages beside each cell, with Markdown, LaTeX and live gm/Id sizing.
  • Plain-text design files that schemify merge-driver merges object by object.
  • Sandboxed wasm plugins and a Lua config in init.lua.

The browser build

The browser build draws with WebGPU, then WebGL2, with a CPU fallback. Files stay in the browser’s storage, and projects move in and out as zip files.

Simulation runs an external simulator: ESpice by default, or ngspice.
